IFYS Ltd. meets the needs of some of the community's most vulnerable children and young people in the Care of Child Safety. State-wide, IFYS provides out of home residential care programs that aim to provide a safe, dependable and nurturing the living environment.

About the opportunity

IFYS is expanding and opening a new residential care program in the Gladstone area. This program will require multiple casual Therapeutic Case Workers to provide youth work support to young people in a 24/7 environment. This includes life skills support and development, recreational activities, community participation and general support with daily living.

This is not a role for the faint-hearted!

The role involves dealing with challenging and complex behaviours so you will need to have a high level of resilience. A down to earth nature and a good sense of humour are also key to this role, in helping you to quickly relate to the young people in care.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player; have strong written communication and time management skills and you will have tenacity in spades! IFYS is dedicated to practicing trauma-informed care and ensuring all staff have an understanding of how trauma affects young people and their behaviours. Experience as a youth worker is highly desirable. This role involves shift work.

It is now a requirement that all professionals working in residential care are required to hold a Cert IV or higher in a recognised field or be working towards this before commencing work.
