Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of young people?

The IFYS Child Protection Residential Care Programs support young people between 12 - 18 years of age needing a placement different from family-based care. Our aim is to provide a safe, dependable and nurturing living environment for these young people as they move towards independence.

Our Gladstone Child Safety Residential Programs currently have part-time and casual Residential Youth Worker positions available.

Residential Youth workers in this program will get the opportunity to show their skills in working with challenging and complex behaviour. This will require patience, resilience, calm nature and the ability to build rapport quickly.

The Residential Programs are a 24/7 environment. This means there is a high level of shift work involved including sleepovers and weekends.

We would be looking for team players who possess strong communication and time management skills. It is essential that you have a natural desire to act as an advocate for young people and ensure that services are relevant, flexible and accessible. People with the below skills and abilities are highly encouraged to apply;

  • Experience working within Youth or Disability Support programs
  • Experience in working with complex behaviour
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Currently studying a related field

It is a requirement for these roles to have a Certificate IV level qualification in a relevant field. You will need to have obtained this qualification or be working towards this prior to commencing work.
