About the opportunity

IFYS Accommodation Services has an exciting opportunity for two part-time active overnight Senior Therapeutic Case Worker's to join the team at our Caboolture Youth Crisis Accommodation program due to additional funding. This is a longstanding and supportive team who have over 12 years' experience in this program.

The Youth Crisis Accommodation program provides young people aged 16 to 25 experiencing homelessness with access to support for a 3-month duration.

Our ideal candidate will possess a strong client-centred practice framework, have sound knowledge of local services and resources, and experience conducting intake assessments and delivering case management.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Engage with young people and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Conduct intake and initial assessments with young people requesting accommodation and support in alignment with guidelines
  • Create individualised support plans with young people to meet their needs and goals
  • Assist young people to develop new living skills and participate in the community of their choice
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all aspects of the shelter to a high standard
  • Completing a range of administrative tasks in a timely manner

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience working with people exhibiting challenging behaviours and complex needs or an understanding of the impacts of trauma on a young person's life
  • A go-getter attitude with the ability to adapt to changing situations and remain calm in the face of a crisis
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly, especially with young people
  • Ability to work active nights across a variety of days Monday to Sunday
  • Qualifications in or currently studying Youth work, Mental Health, Community Services, Human Services or Social Work highly desirable

Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful:

  • Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions
  • QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
  • Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
  • National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
